Ross Brooks

Ross Brooks holds a Bachelor’s degreee in Speech & Theatre from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from Boston University. He is a professional actor and playwright living in Nashville. In the past eight years, Ross has worked professionally all over the United States and abroad. He is a resident company member at Nashville Children’s Theatre, voted in 2004 as one of the top five theatres for young audiences in the United States. As an intern at the Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, Ross was privilleged to have, as mentors, nobel-Prize laureate Derek Walcott and Heidemann Award-winning playwright Kate Snodgrass. Most recently, WONDERLAND, his adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice novels, was produced by People’s Branch Theatre in Nashville, and his play THE ADVENTURES OF EL KIDD was produced by Kentucky Repertory Theatre as the inaugural efffort of Project HEAT: Health Education Awareness Theatre, a program designed to provide age-specific, issue-related theatre to students. He is currently involved in several writing projects not only for the theatre but also for other media. Ross is also a teaching artist, teaching acting, playwriting and stage combat to children of all ages at the Nashville Children’s Theatre, and most recently as an adjunct faculty member of Columbia State Community College in Franklin, TN. Ross is an active member of Actors’ Equity Association.
