Shakespeare Dreamcasts
Posted in dreamcasts on April 9th, 2006 by Tee QuillinThere are examples of Dreamcasts all over the web, but, in my humble opinion, there are none better than those found at Needcoffee.com. Yes, I am biased, what of it? Anyway, Widgett’s had these online for a number of years, so I thought I’d start my own here. We’ll discuss them here and I’ll post the changes that are just overwhelmingly obvious. Be prepared to argue your case for a specific actor in a specific role. For now, I’m going to limit it to just the works of the Bard (and only a select few at that). For these Dreamcasts we are going to assume that the directors listed are going to put their “signature spin” on them (i.e., Quentin Tarrantino would edit Titus Andronicus all our of order and Terry Gilliam would direct A Midsummer Night’s Dream…well, like a brillian Gilliam movie).
Other than that, there are no rules. We’ll see how this goes and then start talking about other plays that haven’t been adapted into acceptible films to date (or ones that are in need of a remake).
So here’s a taste of the first couple of Dreamcasts: (note that I haven’t started anything on Hamlet, I want to see what kind of response we get…) You’ll find the real things under the Dreamcast Links to the right.
